Warning for Telegram users: massive phishing attacks through “gifts” from Telegram premium

In recent days, Telegram has seen a new wave of phishing attacks targeting users of the messenger. Attackers use social engineering by sending messages from familiar contacts with an offer to receive a “gift” - a free subscription to Telegram Premium.

The essence of the scheme is simple: the user receives a link that supposedly leads to a page with an activated bonus. However, after going through it and entering his login data, the victim gives his login and password to the scammers, which immediately leads to account theft.

Similar phishing attacks have affected hundreds of users, and attackers continue to actively distribute malicious links using trust and carelessness.

How to protect yourself:
1. Be careful with unfamiliar links: even if they come from your contacts, always check the sender. Keep an open dialogue with friends if something seems suspicious.

2. Check URLs: Scammers often use URLs that are similar to the official ones, but with minor changes, such as replacing one letter or adding an extra character.
3. Do not enter your details on third-party sites: real updates and offers on premium subscriptions are only available through official Telegram channels.

4. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA): This will add an extra layer of security to your account and help prevent unauthorized access.
If you have become a victim of phishing and have lost access to your account, immediately contact Telegram support and change all passwords. The security of your account depends on your care.

Take care of your data and do not trust suspicious offers - even if they come from friends!
